Racing is a tradition here for over 100 years.
]The long history of AYC sailing events continues. Sailboat racing has been a tradition at the American Yacht Club since its inception over a century ago. Today sailors continue that tradition by participating in races both local and far away.
The American Yacht Club is host to active racing fleets. All races hosted by the AYC are open to anyone wishing to participate, including members of other clubs or the public at large.
An open class, generally for 20’+ boats that are not part of an active one-design fleet. Boats are rated based on a formula and scored depending on their time to complete the course.
Small boat racing
A single-person boat sailed competitively all over the world. These boats have one sail and are very light and fast while being very simple to handle. Currently, the Laser fleet is inactive at the AYC. Please contact Amy Sison, Regatta Chairman, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in reviving this fleet.
Race Schedule for 2019 to be announced.
