Sailing School for Children
Supercharge your kids summer by enrolling them for a session or two at the AYC Sailing Camp.
Our courses are designed to be fun, yet instructional. Skills are built at the student’s pace through ten consecutive weekday half-day sessions.
Courses run through the summer vacation and students can sign up for 2 weeks of morning sessions, 2 weeks of afternoon sessions, or both. If both AM and PM sessions are booked in the same week, please provide a packed lunch and someone will be on hand to supervise the lunch break.
Our instructors lead classroom and on-the-water instruction based on the recommended US Sailing Program curriculum and adapted for sailing on Joppa Flats and the Merrimack River, with plenty of exercises and races thrown in for fun!
Children love it and we have many repeat students – it’s a fun, learning experience in a safe controlled environment.
Student Information
Students are between the ages of 9-17.
We prefer students bring their own U.S.C.G. approved life jacket/PFD to ensure comfort and fit, or the club can supply one on request.
Students should dress appropriately for the conditions of the day and wear closed-toe non-skid shoes that may get wet. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent, water bottle and a rain jacket. Bring a safety strap or ‘croaky’ for your glasses and a hat clip as these things have a habit of getting blown overboard.
To ensure the safety of the children, please be advised that we require that all students be picked up and dropped off no more than 15 minutes from the start or finish of the classes.

Parents Meeting
There will be a mandatory 10 min parents meeting on the first day at the start of class to familiarize the parents and/or guardians with the syllabus of the course, rules for student’s behavior, and general information sharing.
Please Note:
Full payment is required upon registration; $50 of which is a non-refundable deposit. No refunds will be given within 14 days of sailing class start date.
Credit cards are our preferred payment method; however, checks can be used for payment, please contact us at aycsailingschool@gmail.com if you would like to pay be check.
Once your registration and payment has been successfully received, you should receive an email confirming your session dates. Please read this carefully as it includes a legal waiver and medical consent.
