Adult Sailing School
We offer four separate 5-week sessions for adults.
- Tuesday evenings, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, June 22 – July 20
- Thursday evenings, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, June 24 – July 22
- Tuesday evenings, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, July 27 – August 24
- Thursday evenings, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, July 29 – August 26
You must book one (1) student at a time due to our need for waiver/medical/insurance information on each individual student. If you wish to register more than one student, please use multiple checkouts. Do not change quantity to more than 1 per session.
Each session is $275.
American Yacht Club members in good standing qualify for a 10% discount on all Sailing School sessions. The coupon code is listed in your monthly Sailorgram and on the private member pages of this website.
When you sign up for student registration you may pay by credit card, PayPal, or by check through PayPal. We no longer accept checks via US mail. All registrations must be prepaid in full, deposits are not taken.
When you register, you agree to our policies. If you do not agree to these policies, then please do not register. You can preview the agreement here. It is also presented in full on the checkout form on this website.
Refunds will be made if cancellations are made at least seven (7) days in advance of the start date of the session. Please allow at least seven (7) days from the start of the session for your refund to be transferred.
Important Order Details
WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION:
The undersigned accepts that the sport of sailing, and participation in this Program, are subject to certain inherent risks, both known and unknowable, on land and on the water, and by registering for this Program the Applicant accepts those risks and hereby agreeing as follows:
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the undersigned, on their behalf as the Applicant, or as a parent or guardian on behalf of a minor Applicant, voluntarily consents to the Applicant’s participation in the Program as offered by the American Yacht Club Inc. (“AYC”) and in consideration of the Applicant’s participation in the Program, waives any claims against, releases any obligation of, and indemnifies the AYC, and all of their respective members, officers, directors, employees, and agents, (each an “Indemnified Person”), from and against any and all claims for: i) personal or bodily injury, or loss or damage of property of the Applicant; ii) negligence or other error or omission as part of any emergency response that may be provided by AYC as part of the Program; and/or iii) reasonable attorney’s fees that may be incurred by AYC in responding to or enforcing this provision as a result of a claim.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSE:
In addition to immediate emergency response, the undersigned hereby authorizes an instructor from the Program, or an AYC authorized adult, to authorize emergency treatment in the event that the emergency contact cannot be reached at the above telephone number at the time of the emergency.
PHOTO / VIDEO RELEASE:
The undersigned agrees to allow photos or videos of myself / my child taken during the Program to be used in advertising and social media related to the Program and/or other AYC use.
The undersigned confirms that I / my child meets the minimum swimming ability specified by the AYC:
- Jump in and fully submerge
- Swim 100 yards using a stroke of choice
- Tread water for two (2) minutes
- Float on back for one (1) minute.
PERSONAL FLOATATION DEVICE (“PFD”):
The undersigned understands and agrees that I / my child MUST wear a suitable, under ten (10) years old, Personal Flotation Device at all times when on or near the water.
